The Dayton Air Strikers gear up for their 2018 season in the Midwest Basketball League.

The Dayton Air Strikers closed out with the win, against the Indiana Crusaders in yesterday’s season opener .
Leading scorers for last night’s match up was Joe Thomasson with 32 pts, Andre Yates with 20pts, Aaron Holmes 17 pts,
Daquan Walker 17 pts, William McGuire 15pts, and DeWayne Martin with 13pts. The team brought back earlier veterans like Walker, and Cody Ballard, who have played in earlier season with the Strikers and now have returned for the epic battle and quest for the MBL championship.

Almost like a scene out of a basketball movie its the 4th quarter very few seconds left on the clock, and it happens, somethng amazing
that allows the fan favorite team to win.

siince 2016 becoming the rookie of the year for the team and the Midwest Basketball League. Soon after Thomasson was recruited to play
in the top league in Romania CS Dinamo Bucuresti of the Liga Națională. Thomasson averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.2 minutes of play. Thomasson was aquired through the available player pull where here was recently drafted and awaiting to be called ever since.

Thomasson received the call on March 28th and made his debut that evening in Chicago playing against the Windy City Bulls, where he averaged 8 points followed by two other games finishing out with a win against the Deleware 87ers. Thomasson will continue his contract with the Air Strikers during the Spring 2017 season and will be looking forward to his next move with the NBA in early Summer.

(DAYTON OHIO) The Dayton Air Strikers, the Miami Valley’s Professional Development Basketball team is returning to defend its Eastern Division title in the Midwest Basketball League. The team will play 16 season games against 6 other teams in the conference located throughout Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.

Air Strikers are coming off of the longest winning streak, and wins by the largest margin. The team also went undefeated on its home court going 7-0, with the overall record of 12-2 placing third in the league out of 11 teams.

Local returning players are veteran, Brandon Hassell, Aaron (Big Mook) Holmes and 2016 rookie of the year and latest overseas phenom Joe Thomasson. In the fall of last year Thomasson was recruited overseas to play in Romania and later drafted to the NBA-D League. Former impact players from earlier seasons will also be added to the roster.

Games will be played at Sinclair Community College building 8 in downtown Dayton. The team and administration are elated to have the games played at Sinclair giving the team more exposure to the fast growing community and college population of downtown. “We are excited about our upcoming season” said Chris McGuire long time Head Coach, of the Dayton Air Strikers “The players have worked extremely hard these past couple of seasons and are ready to put on a competitive show for the fans.”

The Dayton Airstrikers announced its basketball schedule for the 2017 season playing in the Midwest Basketball League.
The Airstrikers will play a 16 game schedule against teams in the Eastern Conference Division. The season kicks off
on April 9th at 4p at Sinclair Community College. The team announced its new playing venue at the college over the weekend
on its social media outlets. " We have been wanting to get basketball back in the heart of Downtown Dayton for a longtime"
said Anthony Byrd Founder and President of the organization. “We beleive as the defending division champions, we should be back
in a bigger venue, in the heart of Dayton to enhance the fan experience and are excited about Sinclair College hosting our games”
said Byrd.
