The Dayton Airstrikers is back on the court for another season returning to the Midwest Basketball League as defending Eastern Conference Champions for the 2017 season. Returning players will be MBL rookie of the year and NBA prospect Joe Thomasson, veteran M.V.P. Aaron (Mook) Holmes and
team veteran and overseas phenom Brandon Hassell. The team managed to go completely undefeated on its home court, with the overall record of 12 and 2 loosing 1 game during playoffs and 1 semi final championship game in Minneapolis. The team kicked off its preseason this year playing games against Wright Patt Air Force Base, and league rival the Indiana Fury, winning two out of three games. Longtime Head coach Chris Mcguire returns to the
team with the idea of bringing a League title home back to Dayton. “We just want to be more competitive this season, we went all the way to the semi finals last time and beleive this year we can take it all” said McGuire. The Eastern Conference has expanded with 4 new team additions this year with the Kentucky Flash, Central Indiana Crusaders, Springfield Panthers , and the Fort Wayne Vision totaling 8 teams in the Eastern Conference. 2 cross conference games against the Chicago Fury which are in the Western Conference division will also be played this season.
